Vida en el campus

Every year, seniors return to campus one last time as student Stars to celebrate together and take part in the Class Day closing ceremony. In a few short days, the Class of 2023 will call themselves STA alumnae.

The STA campus community gathered on Abril 27, 2023, to honor student achievements and name this year’s Academy Woman.

In the wake of rising local and national incidents of gun violence, students at St. Teresa’s Academy arranged an event to rally for change. At students’ request, we are sharing their story with the STA community.

STA’s talented students earn numerous honors for their contributions to theater.

Esta semana, los estudiantes, la administración y el profesorado de STA tuvieron la oportunidad de asistir a la ceremonia de inducción al Salón de la Fama de la Mujer Starr 2023. Entre las homenajeadas de este año se encontraba Margaret J. Mayo, un rostro familiar para muchos, así como la tía de la presidenta de STA, la Dra. Siabhan Mayo-Washington.

STA is pleased to announce this year’s keynote speaker, Becky Blades. She describes herself as “writer, artist, strategist, stARTist,” and recently authored a book titled Start More Than You Can Finish. In this thought-provoking book, Blades draws on hundreds of interviews with stARTists, as well as research in neuroscience, creativity and behavioral science to arrive at a fresh take on starting and finishing.

At a ceremony held Marzo 9, 2023, in Goppert Gymnasium, the STA community honored the student and community recipients of the Mother Evelyn O’Neill Award. This award recognizes excellence in leadership, community service or educational reform.

To kick off the Lenten season, STA students, faculty and staff took part in an all-school Ash Miércoles Mass today, with Father Don Farnan presiding.
